Discover Terra Siculorum

Terra Siculorum is the Latin name of Szeklerland, a region of our country that contributes significantly to the ethnic, cultural and historical stages of Via Transilvanica. The route through the Szeklerland starts from Câmpu Cetății, crosses the Sovata-Praid depression and continues through the hills of Transylvania, reaching various Szekler villages inhabited by determined and industrious people who still preserve traditions and customs from ancient times. From Odorheiu Secuiesc, also known as the "hometown of the Szeklers" (people of Hungarian origin, colonized in this part of Transylvania), Via Transilvanica continues to Archita, on the border between Harghita and Mureș counties.

Along this stretch, the Hungarian communities with their specificity stand out, but also the natural landscape, with domed hills and flowering meadows, dense forests and pastures, and the stages of this route vary in difficulty, sometimes also in landscape, but certainly from one day to the next, the Szecklerland will let you discover its places, people and atmosphere. And of course: food!
