Terra Saxonum is the land of the Saxons (people of German origin that were colonized in Transylvania). This region begins in Archita, crosses the county of Brașov, then continues through several Saxon villages in the county of Mureș, villages that have been revived by hard-working and enthusiastic people, reaches Sighișoara, then goes through the county of Sibiu to Micăsasa. This region reminds us of the legacy left by the Saxons in Transylvania, with the specific architecture of the houses and households, the fortified churches and the famous bacon tower. The Saxon community was renowned for its unity. The bacon tower, which appears in almost every village with a fortified church, is an example of a place where the whole community stored its winter provisions. The tower was opened on Sundays or Saturdays and people took their supplies from there for a week without touching each other's bacon.

Today, the Saxon lands remain a fabulous heritage of Transylvania, which speaks of an important chapter in our country's history. The journey through Terra Saxonum is one that is hard to forget, full of lessons on the one hand and unparalleled beauty on the other.
